Hello, my name is Wally and Iā€™m a Cairn Terrier!

After being found on a busy street, Lone Star Westie Rescue rescued me from the local shelter and found me a relaxing foster home to live at until I find my forever family! Iā€™m about 2 years young and weigh in at a light 13 pounds, which makes me a perfect size for snuggling on someoneā€™s lap. I am also vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

It took me a while to get used to my foster parents, but now that I trust them, I absolutely love spending time with them. My favorite activity is licking my foster mom and dadā€™s toes when they get home from work, even though they think itā€™s ā€œgrossā€. While I have a very loving personality 99% of the time, I do sometimes struggle with aggression (usually when a human tries to take my toy). For the last few months, Iā€™ve been working with a trainer to iron out some of these issues, and now Iā€™m doing so much better! However, it would still be best if I live in a home without small children.

I would really love a family who will take the time to get to know how sweet and smart I am. Once I get to know someone, I love them from the very bottom of my heart! I also need a family that is willing to be patient while getting to know me, and be willing to follow-through with my training for years to come. If I sound like the right boy for you, please complete the online application on the LSWR website (www.lswr.us). And thank you for supporting rescue! ļŠ

Wally Update:

My name is Wally, and I'm an approximately 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix. I was quite small when Lone Star Westie Rescue took me in, but now I'm up to a healthy 15 lbs. I'm microchipped, neutered, and am up-to-date on all of my shots.

I'm really a laid-back little boy. I enjoy taking naps and having my belly rubbed. I also love going for walks with my foster mom and foster brother, even though I don't walk quite as fast as he does. I sometimes have problems sharing my things with the humans in my foster home, but I'm working on that with a trainer and making good progress.

I absolutely love my foster brother (another Cairn mix), but would prefer a home of my very own -- one without cats or small children. If I sound like the right addition to your family, please visit www.lswr.us to fill out an application. I'll be waiting! :)

COURTESY CROSS-POSTING:

This little guy is a foster in Lone Star Westie Rescue's program. Please contact them at www.lswr.us to apply for him.

NOW....a description of Wally!

My name is Wally and I am approximately 1-2 years old. I am a small little Cairn Terrier. I am 13 pounds and would not have lasted very long out on the streets. The shelter picked me up and thank goodness, LSWR came to get me soon after.

I am neutered, have all my shots, and am microchipped. Iā€™m a pretty quiet and laid-back type of pup and like going for walks in the neighborhood. In the mornings, after I wake up, do my thing and eat my breakfast, I like to go back and take another little snooze. I need to gain a little weight and eating good food will do the trick.

I came in with a broken heart but I think itā€™s mending and Iā€™m making great progress and Iā€™m really into belly rubs now. I love food and treats and Iā€™m learning so many new things. Iā€™m good with good with other dogs but Iā€™m okay being the only dog, because then I would get all the love & attention!! And donā€™t you just love my puppy face and floppy ear??

If I sound like Iā€™m your guy, please visit lswr.us to complete an online application. Iā€™ll be waiting patiently!!

XOXO Wally
