Elfriede is a beautiful, blonde cairn terrier female AND a very sweet little girl. She came into CLSR via owner surrender. Her birthday is June 1st, 2010.

Elfie (her nickname here) is completely up-to-date on her medical protocol, including being spayed and having a recent dental. She was heartworm positive when she came into CLSR, but she is completely through the treatment now and had no complications from it. Elfie has also been dewormed and brought up-to-date on all of her shots. She is also microchipped.

Her weight stays around 17 lbs., depending on her treat level. Elfie loves her food and treats! Here at her foster home, she plays with Douglas (a cairn mix male) and they get along very well. At her former home, she was kept with a female Chihuhaua with no problems either, according to her former owner. She is a fun-loving girl who LOVES her toys! At first she was pretty submissive here, but as she warmed up and learned the routines, she became much bolder about her play times. She now gets really silly and zooms around to play with her toys, often flipping them up into the air as she does so. :)

Elfriede loves to cuddle with her people and to get tummy rubs. She seems to be mostly pottytrained. There have been a few accidents, but not if we're vigilant about taking her out every 2-3 hours or so. She particularly dislikes going potty outside if it's raining, however.

We have all of our fosters learn to sleep in a crate, so she knows how to do that and will even jump into one every once in a while when a treat is shown! She walks okay on leash -- she's not afraid of it -- but she does pull sometimes.
