Jasper came to us as a stray who was not reclaimed by his owner. From Day #1, it's been obvious that he was someone's former much-loved housepet as he is good with other dogs, walks well on lead, and waits to go outside for potties. This tells us that someone worked with him and socialized him while he was a young boy.

Our vet believes that Jasper is approximately 3 years old. In CLSR's care, Jasper has been brought up-to-date on his shots and has been dewormed. He has also been neutered. Recently, he had a thorough dental too. When he first came to us, Jasper tested positive for heartworms. However, he has now completed the 8-week treatment process to eradicate those parasites. And of course, we keep him current on monthly heartworm and flea preventative while in foster care.

Jasper has a very sunny temperment. He's energetic and has great enthusiasm for life! Jasper plays with and gets along well with all the other dogs here. He seems to be a beta personality, not an alpha one.

Behaviorally, he walks well on lead. He sleeps in a crate quietly at night in a room with other dogs in it. If given the option though, he would love to jump up into your bed and sleep with YOU! :)

Did I mention that Jasper is smart as the dickens ??? He will check any new fence perimeter immediately, looking for weak spots. So he needs to go to a terrier- experienced home with a secure backyard. He would also benefit greatly from obedience training.
