Hey it’s me, Charlie! :)

My first foster mom had written a nice history of my journey into Camp Lone Star. Well, I am here to update you! My first foster mom, the one who picked me up from the shelter, decided that I needed to have some extra play time. So she sent me to a new foster home that has 2 cairn boys in it. It has been a party since day one!

They are much older (6-7 yrs old), so I wear them out pretty quick! I will chase one around and he will tire out and go hide in his crate, and then I will chase the other one around! If they have a leash on, and they try to hide in their crate, I pull on that leash and drag them out and say “C’mon you are wasting your life away!â€

I do love playing with my foster brothers and toys! I will toss toys up in the air and then chase after them. I also love walks because there are so many new things to see and smell! But, another thing I love doing is just cuddling. I am happy to lay on the couch or bed with my foster mom and put my head on her shoulder or leg. I even sometimes curl right up to her and sleep...until foster dad puts me in my crate at night.

I don’t mind my crate, in fact I sometimes go in it all by myself. My foster dad says that I learn really fast and I do want to please. However, as much as I love my foster home, I sure would like to have a forever home of my very own, especially if it had a canine brother or sister in it for me to play with. Hey, if you think that YOU might be that Forever Home for me, please go to www.camplonestarrescue.org and apply for me online where you see my picture. I would just love it if you did that! Thank you in advance on this, too.

Your loving cairn friend, Charlie

Charlie is a young, good-natured, cream-colored cairn boy who loves people! He is guessed to be about 17 months old right now, with an approximate birthdate of 8/11/07. He weighs 17 lbs.

CLSR took Charlie in from a shelter and he tested heartworm positive at that time. However, now he's been through the full heartworm treatment and is considered heartworm-free and ready to be adopted. He will definitely make someone a good and loving companion!

During his heartworm treatment, Charlie had to be kept very quiet and isolated in order to heal. So we're just starting to observe some of his more active behaviors now that he's done with that. Charlie is a very friendly and energetic boy who loves to jump up into our laps and get affection. He is young and not used to the leash (he will try to carry it in his mouth at times to "help you"). :) He does keep his crate and exercise pen dry at all times, so we expect to learn good things about his housetraining habits as we progress here.

Charlie loves toys...loves to run and get something you throw! :) And he loves to be with you! We get the feeling that his former family didn't work with him much on manners, so we think he would benefit greatly from obedience training. He's young and smart and should learn quickly on that if someone is consistent with him.

Medically speaking, Charlie is up-to-date on his shots and has been neutered. We learned that he has an underbite when he had a dental recently. Charlie is kept current on his monthly heartworm and flea preventatives while in our foster care and he has also been dewormed.

This beautiful young boy is eager to learn and eager to love someone who will love him back! Might that be you? If you think Charlie would be a good fit for your heart and home, please go to www.camplonestarrescue.org to apply for the pleasure of his company. Charlie will be waiting on you. :)
