01/26/2010:

Lacey is a beautiful, young wheaten girl with a soft, submissive personality. She came into CLSR via a shelter in Louisiana where she had been picked up stray. When no one came to claim her, CLSR stepped in to rescue her!

The very first thing that Lacey does is melt you with her dark brown eyes, sweet expression and snuggle-bug ways! She likes to go where you go...and she seems especially fond of following her Foster Dad around. Perhaps she was some man's best buddy until something catastrophic happened that landed her in that shelter? When she's not in Foster Dad's lap, she's probably laying down at his feet waiting for him to get up and go somewhere interesting. She sleeps quietly in her crate when asked to and, so far, she also seems to be housetrained. No accidents yet anyway.

Lacey is in a play group with three other cairn females here at her foster home. She's getting along very well with all of them. When we first picked her up from the shelter, her fur had been shaved very short and she was very skinny. However, her fur is growing back in now and hopefully her little body will be filled out too in the near future.

Medically speaking, Lacey is heartworm negative, and she's been spayed, microchipped and brought up-to-date on her shots. She also had a dental at time of her spay. In CLSR's care, she's also on monthly heartworm preventative and flea preventative, and she's been dewormed. The vet estimates her age to be two years old.

When you look into Lacey's deep brown eyes, do you find yourself thinking, "She's the one!" If so, you can find the way to adopt her at www.camplonestarrescue.org . Look for her bio and picture in the listing of available cairns and you'll find a link to the adoption application right there. Lacey says, "Please hurry...I want to be your little girl!"
