Sweet Grace is a beautiful, young, former puppymill girl. She's 5 years old and weighs 18 lbs. When first rescued, she was quite fearful of freedom in general, but she's been steadily building her confidence here at her foster home.

Grace likes calm and gentle men and women. She can be a little shy at first. Then once she knows you, she wants to jump in your lap for a cuddle when she sees you, and then gets more energetic and wants to play too. She would do best in a home with adults only.

Grace has discovered and LOVES stuffed animals and chewies! :) Sometimes she can be a bit mouthy in play, so her foster parents are working on reducing that behavior in her.

Medically speaking, Grace is up-to-date on her shots and she's been dewormed. She tested heartworm negative when she entered our rescue program and CLSR keeps her current on monthly flea and heartworm preventative medicines. Her recovery from her spay surgery and dental went well. Her teeth do show some wear from cage biting, so we know that prior to coming into rescue, she was kept in a small pen or crate and chewed on the cage front out of boredom and/or frustration.

Grace is still a bit tentative on the leash, but we're working on that with her. She's very good about keeping her crate clean. We're working on her overall pottytraining too and she's making good progress on that.

In foster care, we've discovered that Grace is dog- aggressive and has a high prey drive, so she can't go to a home with other pets in it. What this little girl needs is her very own special "forever home" where she would be the only dog companion of some lucky person...their very own Cairn Princess! :)
